Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen brings the new snowy region of Norgan to PS5, Xbox & PC on October 9, 2026. Capcom simultaneously confirms the Nintendo Switch 2 port.

Capcom will release “Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen” on October 9, 2026 as a complete version for the Nintendo Switch 2 and simultaneously as an expansion DLC for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The publisher officially confirmed this during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. The add-on delivers the new, snowy region of Norgan, a new relic system for upgrading equipment, and twelve new dungeon challenges called Pathfinder's Trials.

The return of the Dark Arisen model

Capcom is repeating the strategy of its predecessor. Instead of a simple DLC pack, the franchise will be rebranded this fall and relaunched as a complete package. This means owners of the main game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can breathe a sigh of relief: no one needs to buy the game again; the content will be released as a regular expansion pack.

Nintendo players, on the other hand, jump straight into the full version, including all the new mechanics. The core of the expansion is the icy territory of Norgan, a deserted region in the north of the well-known Vermund kingdom. Capcom promises brutal hordes and tougher boss enemies specifically designed for high-level characters.

Relics and Trials

The gameplay loop is expanded through so-called relics. Players loot these items in Norgan and have them appraised in a new settlement. This unlocks improved defensive and offensive stats as well as unique weapon skills.

The endgame will be driven by the twelve Pathfinder's Trials. These dungeons contain the rare equipment of former Arisen. In addition, there will be purely cosmetic updates such as new hairstyles and tattoos in the character editor.

Technically, the announcement remains intriguing. "Dragon's Dogma 2" was notorious for its extreme CPU load and frame rate drops in cities at its 2024 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X. How Capcom intends to keep the demanding RE Engine stable on the Nintendo Switch 2's hardware remains unclear from the announcement. Concrete performance data is needed to clarify this.

Capcom nevertheless delivers exactly the content that the community expects. SteamDB entries The relic system, which has been eagerly anticipated, adopts the proven principle of the Dark Arisen island from the first game. This ensures the necessary long-term motivation in the endgame.
