DualShock 4 controllers are now compatible with Apple devices

The DualShock 4 controller can now be used with numerous Apple devices, including iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and macOS, provided they have iOS 13.

Hundreds of games are already available for Apple devices using the DualShock 4 controller. These can be streamed to the device or accessed via MFi V Controller support for Apple Arcade. All that's needed is the PS4 Remote app, which can be downloaded for iOS and macOS.

Here's how you can pair a Dualshock 4 controller with an Apple device.

If this is your first time using a controller with your Apple device, you will need to follow these steps to pair it via Bluetooth:

  • Make sure the light bar on the controller is off. If the light bar is on, press the PS button until it goes out.
  • If a USB cable is connected to the controller, it must be disconnected.
  • Hold down the SHARE button and keep pressing the PS button until the light bar flashes.
  • Activate Bluetooth on your device and then select the controller from the list of Bluetooth devices. Once pairing is complete, the light bar will turn a single color.
