The highly anticipated online spin-off Elden Ring Nightreign The game's first network test ended in a crash landing. Instead of epic battles, players were met with a different, less welcome scenario: endless loading screens and server error messages.
The first test run, scheduled from 12 PM to 2:00 PM, was intended to give players a first glimpse into the game's co-op experience. However, many didn't even get past the main menu. The reason? A completely overloaded server.
"Nightfarers, please wait"
FromSoftware itself quickly responded and confirmed X addressed the problem via social media:
"Nightfarers, the Nightreign PlayStation servers are currently undergoing maintenance. We are working to restore server functionality. Further updates will follow. Thank you for your patience and understanding."
The servers were restarted a short time later, but it remains unclear whether this will solve the problems in the long term.

Test passed – but not for players
Ironically, the goal of a network test is precisely that: to verify the resilience of the servers. In this respect, Elden Ring Nightreign It passed the stress test with flying colors – unfortunately not in the players' favor.
Social media is already flooded with complaints and demands for an extension of the testing period. Whether the situation eases over the weekend or proves to be a major obstacle to the release remains to be seen.
Elden Ring Nightreign It will be released next May..
