Sony finally released their title 'Erica' today, which was originally announced for PS4 in 2017, back then as a PlayLink title.
In this cinematic live-action thriller from developer Flavourworks, players become part of an interactive story, determining the fate of the titular protagonist Erica through their decisions. Together with the players, the young woman tries to uncover the truth behind a murder case closely linked to her family history.
In cinematic scenes, Erica and the players must distinguish truth from lies in order to reconstruct the events of the past. The story is underscored by the gripping soundtrack from Austin Wintory, who is also known for the music of... Journey and Assassin's Creed Syndicate distinguished.
The game can be controlled either with the touchpad of the DUALSHOCK 4 controller or a smartphone paired with the PS4. Whether players tentatively open a door to peek through the crack or forcefully shove it open to create a scene, every movement must be executed precisely, and varying degrees of pressure on the touchscreen or controller are perceived differently in the game. This is how Erica draws her players deeper into the action and creates a unique, immersive atmosphere.
The seamless transitions between live-action scenes and player interaction, as well as the numerous storylines that follow each player reaction, make ERICA a truly unique experience unlike anything seen before on the PS4.
