This Thursday, Kaz Hirai, President of Sony, plans to present his vision for the company's future. Initial details have already been published in the Japanese daily newspaper Nikkei.
The company plans to cut around 10.000 jobs worldwide, affecting six percent of its total workforce. Hirai aims to return the company to profitability within four years.
The reasons for these measures are, firstly, the strong yen, which has been causing problems for companies for years, and secondly, strong competition such as Apple or Samsung.
A formal announcement and further plans to revive the business are expected on Thursday.
