The VR shooter 'Farpoint', which enjoyed huge success particularly through the use of the Aim Controller, was today equipped with a new patch and Versus Mode.

This is now available with 1.08 Patch Available and lets you play 1-vs-1 matches against AI opponents. There are two PvP modes: Deathmatch and Uplink. In Uplink, communication relays are dropped around the arena, which you must collect and hold to score points. You can also earn additional points by killing other opponents or AI players.

For Deathmatch and Uplink, two out of three rounds on each map must be won to determine a final winner. Each round takes place in a different area of the map, so players will need to memorize the layouts. Three new PvP maps (each with three areas) are available at launch.

In addition to the new PvP mode, update 1.08 also includes the following features:

  • Player Progression XP system to unlock new skins
  • Weapon XP progression system that unlocks 15 new firearms
  • The Chaos Co-op Mode is now even more chaotic.
  • Covering the seat is done via a separate button.
  • Optimizations and new options for VR movements
  • New trophies

More about Farpoint is also revealed our review about the game back then.
