Only two days until the next potential PSVR hit, 'Farpoint', which will also feature the new Aim Controller. Sony has put together an official bundle specifically for it, which they are showcasing today in an unboxing video.
The Aim Controller was developed specifically with shooter games like 'Farpoint' in mind and aims to take the immersion experience to the next level. At the same time, aspects like design and handling were paramount, as the design team explained. in a recent special explained by Sony. Here's a short excerpt:
"I tried to keep the design of the PS VR Aim Controller as simple as possible. It was important that players could use it safely and comfortably even with the PS VR headset on, and that the controller could be used for any type and shape of weapon in games." said Taichi Nokuo, UX Platform Design. "We arranged the buttons around the sticks so that players can move their thumbs intuitively without having to reposition their grip. The buttons are not scattered across the controller, but simply and strategically placed exactly where players instinctively reach."
The Aim Controller Bundle seems to be so popular that it has already sold out several times, including now, meaning you have to look a little further for it.
Incidentally, 'Farpoint' isn't the only title that will support the Aim Controller. More titles like 'Arizona Sunshine', 'Brookhaven', and 'ROM: Extraction' will follow soon, which we... in a small special have summarized.
Those who can do without such "bells and whistles" for now, or who are completely new to VR, can currently get a fairly inexpensive entry point with a new bundle and 'Farpoint', which are available together for €399, effectively including the game for free (see ad below). directly from Amazon.de.
(Update)
Sony now confirmed againThe offer for the PlayStation VR headset + Farpoint is a limited-time promotion ending on May 23rd. There's also a parallel deal offering €30 off the Aim Controller bundle, but the problem is that the Aim Controller is currently so popular that it's sold out in many places or being sold at significantly higher prices. However, Sony is already sending out new stock, which should be available soon.
