With the release of 'Farpoint' next week, there will also be a special Aim Controller Bundle, developed specifically for the VR shooter.
A new video today takes a look behind the scenes at the development of this special controller, which is of course not exclusively intended for 'Farpoint'. Other games will benefit from it in the near future, including 'ROM Extraction', 'Dick Wilde', and the already released 'Brooke Haven'.
In an interview today with Takeshi Igarashi, VP of Peripheral Design Dept. (mechanical design), and Taichi Nokuo, UX Platform Design (form factor design), new details are revealed, including how the controller has evolved over time, why the specific button layout was chosen, and its overall appearance. Here's a short excerpt:
"I tried to keep the design of the PS VR Aim Controller as simple as possible. It was important that players could use it safely and comfortably even with the PS VR headset on, and that the controller could be used for any type and shape of weapon in games."
The full interview is available on the Official PlayStation Blog or in the following video. Anyone interested in 'Farpoint' and the Aim Controller can purchase the bundle. Purchase for 99 EUR at Amazon.deThose who are completely new to VR can also opt for a new hardware bundle consisting of PlayStation VR and the game Farpoint, see advertisement below.
