Over the past two weeks, fans have been able to vote for their favorite on the FIFA 17 website and choose one of the four FIFA 17 ambassadors: James Rodriguez (Real Madrid), Anthony Martial (Manchester United), Eden Hazard (Chelsea) or Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund).

In total, more than 3,1 million votes were cast in the election, from which the Dortmund player emerged as the winner. Marco Reus has already received numerous awards and is considered one of the most dangerous attacking players in all of Europe. The 29-time German international was named German Player of the Year in 2012 and will wear the captain's armband for Borussia Dortmund next season.

“It’s great to experience the fans’ support for their favorite player. Marco plays for a popular club, is a spectacular player, and enjoys enormous popularity in FIFA Ultimate Team. Therefore, it’s only logical that the fans chose him.” commented Nick Channon, Senior Producer at EA SPORTS FIFA. "Reus now belongs to the elite circle of superstars who have appeared on the FIFA cover over the years."

"It is a great honor for me to be included in the select circle of FIFA cover stars.", commented Marco Reus on his election success. "I owe this to all the fans worldwide who voted for me. I will do everything I can to confirm this trust with my performances in the new season."

The four FIFA 17 cover candidates, as global ambassadors for FIFA 17 in collaboration with EA SPORTS, have influenced the gameplay and inspired the innovative way players think, move and tackle, complete set pieces and use new attacking techniques.
