Barely semi-officially unveiled, the first developers are already announcing support for the new PS4 Neo and Microsoft's Project Scorpio. Final Fantasy XV, among other titles, is expected to benefit from the additional development resources as soon as they become available.
At the moment, no projects appear to be actively in development for the new hardware, as the developers themselves only just learned about it, such as Final Fantasy XV Game Director Hajime Tabata. He himself had only just heard about Project Scorpio. belongs, while he was backstage waiting for his stage appearance at Microsoft.
“No, we haven’t launched anything like that yet… I heard about Scorpio at the [Microsoft] press conference. I was waiting in the Green Room and thought, ‘Ooh wow, what is that?’”
Tabata sees a lot of potential in the new hardware that can be used for Final Fantasy XV. However, the role-playing game also offers a great experience on current hardware and was further optimized for the E3 demo, where the game mostly ran at 1080p on PS4 and between 800 and 900p on Xbox One.
Final Fantasy XV will initially be released on September 30, 2015.
