Once again, rumors about the new Assassin's Creed are circulating today, revealing the potentially final name and suggesting an imminent announcement, possibly even before E3.

According to this information, the game will not be called 'Assassin's Creed Empire', but rather 'Assassin's Creed Origins', which would certainly be a good fit for a reboot of the series. This information comes from an employee of a printing company that produces pre-order cards for various manufacturers and retailers.

Like this employee in the Reddit forum He claims to have recently worked on a project related to 'Assassin's Creed Origins'. He also assumes the game is still set in Egypt, as the artwork showed a city with pyramids in the background. In the center of the artwork, an assassin was depicted running towards the city, carrying a bow and shield. A Gold Edition is also mentioned, which will include the game, a Season Pass, and a Steelbook case.

In conclusion, he stated that this wasn't the first time he'd learned about an upcoming game through his work, but these pre-order cards are usually only ordered after the announcement. He also believes the order is expected to be delivered by the end of the month, leading to the assumption that the announcement will take place around the same time or shortly thereafter. Perhaps at E3? The timing would certainly fit well.

As is so often the case, there is no evidence whatsoever for these claims, so we simply have to wait and see whether they will prove true or not.

Over the weekend, further details about the game emerged, which, while still considered rumors, will only fuel the excitement surrounding them if they prove true. Apparently, a second, unnamed source has now commented on the game, explicitly mentioning its content.

The announcement also claims that the title will be 'Origins' and that it takes place in a vast open world in ancient Egypt. The story itself reportedly revolves around the original Assassin's Guild, with players taking on the roles of two main characters. Furthermore, the story is said to be less linear this time around, featuring a character development system that isn't directly tied to the narrative and is comparable to Bethesda's 'Skyrim'. Initial internal reviews have already been very positive.

This time, the player will also have even more opportunities to explore, as it is already the biggest Assassin's Creed game ever developed, based on years of development. Further details mentioned this time include naval battles, additional locations that will likely be visited briefly, different time periods and historical settings in Asia, World War II, as well as a return to the present day at Abstergo Industries.

An official announcement of the game is expected at E3 2017.

Now, a first alleged image of the game has surfaced, which roughly matches the report above.
