That DICE and EA are working on further Battlefield games is actually a closely guarded secret. A new Battlefield title is slated for release next year, also set in World War II and thus directly following 'Battlefield 1'. Furthermore, there is also supposed to be 'Battlefield: Bad Company 3''is in progress, which will follow at a later date.'
More information about both games has now leaked, courtesy of the well-known YouTuber 'AlmightyDaq', who has previously been accurate with information about Battlefield. Regarding Battlefield, which is set in World War II and is expected to be released in 2018, the story will be told from the perspectives of various American soldiers, but the plot will still be interconnected. This will be achieved by combining elements of stories from Battlefield 1 and Band of Brothers.
The gameplay remains based on the mechanics of Battlefield 1, including the movement system, weapon handling, destruction, etc., though these have been further refined. Players will also be able to choose from several prototype weapons developed around this time, and vehicle control, modeled after Battlefield 4, will be available again. Aircraft and dogfights are also key components, and the Behemoths make a return.
In multiplayer, players initially choose between the USA, USSR, Germany, and Japan as playable factions. Classes such as Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon are also available, but there is no Medic. Soldiers can be extensively customized, as can their weapons, and there will again be female soldiers and various ethnic groups.
Finally, very large maps are mentioned, most of which are likely intended for the Conquest mode. Of course, DLCs and a premium pass are also planned to expand these maps.
Battlefield: Bad Company 3
Regarding Battlefield: Bad Company 3, it's rumored that the title could be released as early as 2019 and will pick up the story of the original Bad Company squad. The game will likely be set after Bad Company 2, with additional flashbacks to the Vietnam War. Features like destruction will again be central and build upon those of Battlefield 1, as will bullet drop, while players will be required to possess more skill.
Regarding vehicles, there will likely only be helicopters, but no airplanes or jets. Ground transport vehicles and tanks will be available, although they won't play the primary role. The maps in Bad Company will be more similar to the Rush game mode, with close-quarters combat. There will also be more customization options, 10 maps at launch, battlepacks for cosmetic items, and more.
However, it remains true that none of this information has been officially confirmed. The sheer volume of it, though, at least gives reason to hope that the two games actually exist and could be announced in the near future.
