Something for everyone – that's a fair way to describe Tango Gameworks' approach to graphics modes. Ghostwire: Tokyo describe, offering a choice of six of them.

Here different It's not just a matter of choosing between graphics or performance, but also covers all the intermediate steps, where one is often only available without the other. The complete package is only possible on a suitable PC.

However, there are also indications that Ghostwire: Tokyo possibly the first game to be actively from the upcoming VRR support of the PS5 benefits, which will be available soon.

Regarding the PS5 version, the following options are available:

  • quality mode – 4K resolution at 30fps, improved graphics effects and ray tracing
  • Performance Mode – 60fps at lower resolution, no ray tracing and reduced graphics effects
  • High Frame Rate Quality Mode – Similar to Quality Mode, but without a framerate cap, which here fluctuates between 40 and 50 fps, causing screen tearing. VRR support may be added later.
  • High frame rate performance mode – Similar to Performance Mode, but without a framerate cap, which in turn causes screen tearing. VRR support may be added once available.
  • High Frame Rate Quality Mode With V-Sync & High Frame Rate Performance Mode With V-Sync The last two modes are the same as HFR Quality and HFR Performance, only with V-Sync enabled, which almost completely eliminates the problems in the modes without a framerate cap. However, you do lose a little graphics quality in these modes.

Tango Gameworks also notes that a patch will be available at release that will further optimize the individual game modes.

Ghostwire: Tokyo Released on March 25, 2022.
