Over a year after the PS5 release, players can now enjoy the Spider's Thread-Update in Ghostwire: Tokyo. At the same time, the game is available for Xbox Series X|S, but so far it hasn't performed very well there.

The update "The spider's thread" It adds new content and an additional game mode to the game – for an even creepier version of Tokyo. In this mode, players fight their way through 30 levels. The goal? To reach the end of the final level to unlock new abilities and collect currency that can be exchanged for upgrades.

Furthermore, players can look forward to brand-new locations, including a school haunted by ghosts. These new areas also feature new missions and puzzles to solve. The main story is enhanced by extended cutscenes that give players a deeper insight into the story of Ghostwire: Tokyo (our review) in which the duo Akito and KK try to thwart Hannya's treacherous plan and save Tokyo from destruction.

Performance on Xbox falls short of expectations

From today is Ghostwire: Tokyo Also available for Xbox Series X|S, which falls somewhat short of expectations technically. Players are reporting a "terrible performance"Especially regarding the frame rate, one will be very disappointed. Slowdowns from 60fps to below 30fps can sometimes be observed, particularly when subtle effects like rain occur.

Even Xbox-friendly sites are currently giving the Xbox Series X|S port a pretty bad review. Windows Central, for example, writes:

"Forget the 'quality mode', which introduces a bizarre slow-motion delay that makes the game completely unplayable."
