Gran Turismo 7 will receive update 1.68 on March 12, 2026. Polyphony Digital officially confirms the three new vehicles and an expansion of the world track events for the simulation's fourth anniversary.
The speculation surrounding the veiled silhouettes are finished. The update brings a mix of modern everyday life, Japanese sports car history, and a special custom design from the developers:
- Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Race Mod: This is a special restomod, designated as a "Gran Turismo Original". It marks the return of the racing modification (RM) concept in a modernized form that goes beyond the standard 1969 Z28.
- Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R (FD) '91: The early version of the FD generation complements the existing RX-7 models. The focus here is on the original 90s design.
- Renault Captur S Edition TCe 140 '21: The French crossover will be available in the "S Edition" with 140 hp. This further expands the compact SUV category.
Expansion of world routes
In addition to the vehicle fleet, Polyphony is delivering four new racing events, which are spread across various performance LPs (performance points):
The European Sunday Cup 400 takes place in the gardens of the Dragon Trail, while the Japanese Clubman Cup 550 is run at Kyoto Driving Park on the "Yamagiwa" (reverse) layout. For more powerful cars, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta now offers the American Clubman Cup 700. The highlight for endurance racing fans is the World Touring Car Cup 800 at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
Update 1.68 will be rolled out on Thursday morning. The integration of a "Gran Turismo Original" vehicle, such as the Camaro Race mod, suggests that the developers are increasingly focusing on their own creations to fill gaps in the classic racing segment.
The four new events also offer fresh sources of credit income for players who want to specifically expand their vehicle fleet.
