Polyphony Digital breaks with its usual release schedule and brings the next content update for Gran Turismo 7 Already in mid-March. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed three new vehicles for the coming week via X.
Contrary to the usual practice of releasing content updates in the last week of the month, the patch for the fourth anniversary of Gran Turismo 7 It is expected as early as the week of March 9, 2026. Historically, almost all of the previous 35 content updates followed a strict end-of-month schedule. This deviation suggests a targeted release around the anniversary of the game's launch. The most likely release date is Thursday, March 12, around 07:00 AM CET.
Three new arrivals under the tarpaulin
As usual, Yamauchi teases the new content with a silhouette photo. The identities of the three vehicles are not definitively confirmed due to the covers, but the body shapes allow for clear conclusions:
- French crossover: A compact SUV joins the fleet. Its design strongly suggests the second generation of the Renault Captur. The vehicle is based on the Clio and competes directly against the Peugeot 2008, which was introduced last June.
- Japanese Wankel classic: On the right side of the teaser, the distinctive shape of a Mazda RX-7 (FD) can be seen. Since the "Spirit R" variant already exists in the game, experts are speculating about a return of the classic Type R, which was present in almost all of the series' numerical predecessors.
- US muscle car: The third vehicle is undoubtedly a first-generation Chevrolet Camaro. Since the 1969 Z28 is already integrated, either the SS 350 variant from GT6 or a SEMA Award winner like the "Stielow Red Devil" are possibilities. A return of the "Race Modified" (RM) models is also a possibility.
An update is coming next week.

Scope of the expansion
Beyond the vehicles, no further information on additional content is currently available. Polyphony Digital typically supplements such updates with new world track races, additional menu books in the café, and new Scapes locations. Whether technical adjustments to the physics model or new engines for the engine swap feature are included will only be confirmed by the official patch notes immediately before release.
The update will be available to all users of Gran Turismo 7 Available for free on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. As this is a content expansion, expect a download size similar to previous patches. Its primary benefit lies in the diversification of vehicle classes, particularly through the expansion of the still rather sparsely populated crossover category.
Aside from live service support, the Work on Gran Turismo 8 The game has clearly gained momentum. Polyphony Digital is actively seeking new developers from all fields for the project.
