According to a recent report by IGN Boss Team Games, the developer behind [works] Evil Dead: The Game, on two new projects in Halloween-Universe. The horror icon Michael Myers returns to the video game landscape, but the exact details are still being kept under wraps.
The apparently larger project is being created using Unreal Engine 5 and is being developed in collaboration with John Carpenter, the legendary director of the original film. Halloween developed in 1978. In an initial statement, he explains:
"As a big gamer myself, I am very excited to bring Michael Myers back to life in this game, and I hope to scare the living daylights out of you."
Carpenter is supposed to create the right atmosphere
The fact that Carpenter is so closely involved in the game's development certainly promises an authentic and terrifying experience for fans of the horror classic. Boss Team Games assures players that they will relive some iconic moments from the film and encounter classic characters in both upcoming titles.
The only officially released Halloween game to date dates back to 1983 and was an Atari 2600 adaptation by Wizard Video. This rare piece of video game history will be released alongside the Atari 2600 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre It is considered a collector's item. The new project could therefore represent a significant step forward for Halloween games and fill the gap that has existed since the early 80s.
The development of the new Halloween games appears to be in its early stages, so further information is not expected for several months.
