Since "Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions" differs significantly from last year's mega-hit "Hogwarts Legacy," we've summarized some details about what you can expect from the game.

This is how Quidditch is played
In the game, players take on the role of a Quidditch player, soaring through the air on a flying broomstick to catch the Quaffle, score goals, defend the hoops, or catch the Snitch. There are various positions in the game, such as Chaser, Keeper, Beater, and Seeker, each with unique responsibilities. Three different balls also play a central role: the Quaffle, Bludgers, and the Snitch.
Quidditch is played by two teams of seven players each: three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper, and one Seeker. Chasers try to throw the Quaffle through one of the three opposing goals, Beaters use Bludgers to distract opponents, and Keepers protect their own goals.
- The Quaff The Quaffle is a red ball, roughly the size of a football. It is used by the Chasers of both teams to score goals. The Chasers try to throw the Quaffle into one of the opposing team's three hoops. Each successful goal earns the team 10 points.
- The Clapper Bludgers are two black balls, slightly smaller than the Quaffle. Their purpose is to make life difficult for the players. These balls fly uncontrollably through the air, trying to knock players off their brooms. The Beaters of both teams are responsible for using their bats to keep the Bludgers away from their own players and instead deflect them towards the opposing team.
- The Snitch The Golden Snitch is a small, golden ball with rotating wings. It is extremely fast and can abruptly change direction, making it very difficult to catch. Only the Seeker is allowed to catch the Snitch. The game ends when the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch, which is worth 150 points.

"Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions" places a strong emphasis on competitive gameplay. Leagues, tournaments, and leaderboards will allow players to compete against others and improve their skills. The game is being developed by Unbroken Studios and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. Games brand. Portkey Games is known for developing games set in the magical world of "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts," including "Hogwarts Legacy."
Criticism of “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions” has so far focused on the fact that Warner Bros. deliberately included the popular sport in “Hogwarts Legacy” (our review) was left out to avoid undermining the release of "Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions." A convincing explanation for why Quidditch wasn't included in the RPG remains elusive. Furthermore, the fear persists that the game will evolve into a classic live-service title, requiring players to regularly pay for content.
