The publication of hell is us The wait is getting closer: Developer Rogue Factor has confirmed via X that the game has gone gold. Production is now complete, paving the way for a timely release on [date]. September 4, 2025 Nothing stands in the way on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Exploration without handholding

In hell is us You take on the role of Remi, who returns to his war-torn homeland of Hadea after many years. His motivation: personal questions. What happened in his childhood? And why does everything feel so familiar – and yet so foreign?

The playful approach involves a new wayNo signposts, no compass, no UI hints. Instead, players have to glean clues from dialogue, locations, and small details – for example, when a child casually mentions "white trucks" that might have taken Remi's father. Those who only focus on the main mission will miss a lot – because hell is us Curiosity is rewarded with hidden stories and secrets.

Close combat meets narrative

The game playfully combines classic third-person exploration with tactical close-quarters combat and drone deployment. But Jacques-Belletête emphasizes: Combat is only half the experience. The other half lies in observing, interpreting, and combining – even outside of clearly defined mission structures.

The idea: Players should thinking, not just follow. A "player platter" approach, as it's known internally – roughly translated: the world is served, but you eat what you find.

hell is us It seems to be more than just the next dark action game. The fragmented story, the absence of modern convenience features, and the strong focus on player intuition suggest a challenging experience – but it remains to be seen whether this bold approach to reduction will pay off.
