In just a few hours, the ‘HITMAN BETA’ will begin, giving you your first glimpse of Agent 47’s latest mission.
Even though Square Enix has already released details about the BETA process, some confusion still seems to exist, which they have now addressed in an official FAQ. According to the FAQ, access to the BETA is granted to all those who pre-ordered the digital version (Intro Pack / Full Experience) from the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live, as well as the Collector's Edition. If you pre-ordered from a retailer, they will distribute the voucher codes for the BETA client themselves.
The BETA client will be available for download from the PlayStation Store starting at 12 PM Central European Time and can be downloaded by all those who pre-ordered the game. This also marks the official start of the BETA, which will end next Monday at the same time.
The BETA offers a playable prologue set in a training center where Agent 47 joins the ICA and meets Diana Burnwood. This introduces basic gameplay mechanics and allows you to eliminate two different targets. You can repeat this as often as you like, allowing you to try out different approaches. However, your progress from the BETA will not carry over to the final game, and the Contracts Mode is also absent from the BETA.
The download itself is approximately 4,7 gigabytes and will only be playable in English. A persistent online connection is also required, although this will not be necessary for the full game.
