Since December 2014 it might It has been reported that work has begun on the action RPG 'Lords of the Fallen 2' by CI Games. German developer Deck13, who were responsible for the franchise's debut, is no longer involved.

As the publisher now explained has, the contract with Deck13 was terminated due to "deficient workmanship" The decision was cancelled, meaning the game will now be developed internally or by a new development partner. Who that partner will be is not yet known.

CI Games also remained largely vague about what they considered "poor execution." The action RPG performed quite solidly within the genre, but likely fell short of CI Games' expectations. Contracts often stipulate a minimum Metascore or specific sales figures, which may not have been met. Financially, however, 'Lords of the Fallen' was a success, as the publisher announced even before the game's release.

The release date for 'Lords of the Fallen 2' is still unknown.
