Hexworks will release update 1.7 today for Lords of the Fallen Released and available from approximately 7 PM on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, this update brings a number of combat improvements that will significantly enhance the gameplay experience.
Following numerous rounds of community feedback and intensive player testing, Hexworks has significantly overhauled the game's combat mechanics. The changes in version 1.7 include more precise controls, a more responsive combat system, and an improved animation-canceling mechanic. Players can now not only act faster and more accurately, but also react much more smoothly during critical moments such as dodging and rolling. Furthermore, the invincibility system has been reworked, further sharpening the balance between risk and reward in combat.
The game flow becomes more dynamic
Another highlight of the update is the introduction of button prompts for heavy attacks and a complete recalibration of stamina, making gameplay more dynamic and intuitive. This not only improves character control but also lowers the barrier to entry for newcomers, while offering even deeper strategic options for experienced players. The revamped controls make the characters feel more alive, resulting in a more intense and rewarding combat experience.
In addition to combat improvements, version 1.7 brings numerous quality improvements that enhance the overall impression of Lords of the Fallen To round things off, players can now enable or disable automatic Vigor collection, which, combined with more realistic enemy attack ranges and tracking, makes for even more intense battles. The New Game Plus experience has also been further optimized, ensuring that the game's challenges remain consistently exciting.
Newcomers receive support
For newcomers, the update also offers another practical addition: players can now summon NPCs for assistance before their first encounter in boss fights. Previously, this feature was only available after an initial defeat, providing a smoother introduction. Furthermore, NPC stats have been adjusted to establish them as stronger and more helpful allies. A particular highlight for fans is the return of the popular "Good Boy," the Hallowed Sentinel Hound, who now serves as an NPC for boss battles.
Since the release of version 1.6 Hexworks has continuously made improvements to the game to optimize platform gameplay, expand tutorials, and make the Umbral Empire more explorable.
It's currently available in the PSN Store for under €30. I'm still undecided. I think Elden Ring is fantastic, for example. But it's sometimes really too difficult for me. I've almost platinumed God of Wae Valhalla. I just need one more playthrough. I'm really good at that, I have to admit. But not at Elden Ring.
Could someone please tell me what Lords of the Fallen is like? Is it comparable to Elden Ring, or easier?
