This marks the first ever look at gameplay footage for Insomniac Games' new Spider-Man title. Until now, there had only been a roughly one-and-a-half-minute trailer, and information had been scarce. That has now changed, and a first glimpse into the gameplay has been revealed. In it, you can see both heroes and their new combat abilities.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Info

The villain in this installment is none other than Kraven the Hunter and his henchmen, the Kraven Hunters. They are after Dr. Curt Connors, AKA The Lizard. The game's objective is to protect Lizard from the Hunters. However, Spider-Man faces a superbly equipped adversary who possesses a whole arsenal to make their lives difficult.

At first glance, Spider-Man is almost unrecognizable. Instead of his iconic red, blue, and white suit, he's now wearing his black suit. This suit grants him symbiotic abilities, which he immediately puts to use, allowing him to overwhelm multiple enemies at once. This opens up entirely new takedowns and combat options.

Not only do you have new gameplay options as Peter Parker, but Miles Morales has also seen some changes. His blue, bioelectric powers unlock new possibilities. To avoid having two separate skill trees for each hero, they've been combined into one, meaning you only need to allocate your ability points once. The game will switch between the two heroes frequently, both during gameplay and in specific cutscenes.

Technically, there have been some significant improvements. Besides enhanced particles, a fuller, richer world, and improved lighting, the game also features 3D audio for a unique sound experience. Furthermore, the game fully utilizes the DualSense controller and will take advantage of adaptive triggers. More boroughs will be playable than in previous installments, including Queens. For comparison, in Marvel's Spider Man The entire event took place in Manhattan.

So far, the only known release window is this fall. There's no exact date yet. As soon as one is available, you'll find out here.
