It seems that you will also be able to get your copy of Mass Effect 3 via the PlayStation Store in time for next week.
According to a comment from a moderator on the Official PlayStation BlogThe game will go live there promptly at midnight, and not with the regular update later in the evening. However, this statement only applies to the US store for now, as otherwise the release and the store update would coincide inconveniently.
Mass Effect 3 will only be released in Europe on Thursday, so one can hope that the same procedure will be followed here, if the game isn't even available on Wednesday.
