Casey Hudson, the producer of the original Mass Effect series, has left BioWare after 16 years to embark on a new stage of his career.

As stated in a BioWare blog post regarding Hudson's departure, he had pressed the reset button to clarify what the next phase of his life would be and what his next challenge would be. Such a decision is never easy, but now is the best time to make it.

The foundation for the new IP at BioWare Edmonton has now been laid, and the game is ready to enter pre-production, a game they believe will redefine interactive entertainment. They also received high praise for the new Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, which have never looked better.

Hudson led the development of four major titles at BioWare, for which he is very grateful. He is confident that the new projects are in good hands and is personally looking forward to playing them.
