With the upcoming release of the Max Payne remake, the official soundtrack will also be re-released, which Rockstar Games announced today as the Anniversary Edition.
The iconic soundtrack will also be released this year on digital streaming platforms and includes the atmospheric music of LA noise band HEALTH as well as new, previously unreleased tracks.
“When we started working on the music for Max Payne 3, we had no idea what a significant impact it would have on the band’s trajectory and the music we make,” said HEALTH. “Now, 10 years later, we are still as proud as ever to be a part of this story.”
The music of Max Payne gave the game a dark and driving industrial soundscape, reflecting Max's confused state of mind and the oppressive atmosphere of the Max Payne series. Furthermore, the soundtrack developed a distinctive melancholic noise-rock sound in new directions, while the track "TEARS" has become a staple of the band's captivating live shows.

The game itself at the time represented a seamless, highly detailed and cinematic experience, combining innovative firefights with a dark and twisty story that takes Max from the streets of New York to the favelas of São Paulo.
However, the beginnings of the series can be seen soon to be experienced as a remake, which is currently being developed by Remedy.
