Reports reveal: Xbox CEO Asha Sharma is pumping massive amounts of money into Bethesda to accelerate the release of Fallout and Elder Scrolls 6. All the details!

New Xbox boss Asha Sharma wants to drastically accelerate the development of the next installments of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls and Halo with a massive financial injection.

According to reports from The Information, Microsoft management is reacting to the absurd development cycles of Bethesda and Halo Studios.

The timing couldn't be more bizarre. Exactly eight years ago, the first teaser for "The Elder Scrolls 6" flickered across our screens. Since then, there's been radio silence. If the successor to Skyrim really doesn't appear until between 2027 and 2029, almost two decades will separate the two role-playing games. That's no longer a normal development cycle. That's stagnation.

Coal against time: The new boss's plan

Sharma is now strategically injecting fresh capital into the most compelling brands. The rationale is simple: more budget means more resources, which translates to faster releases. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood have apparently already approved the plan for the fiscal year starting in July. Xbox needs hits, and fast. The community is fed up with years of delays and empty promises.

At the same time, Xbox is facing an internal crisis. Despite the new influx of money for its top franchises, a major restructuring is looming next month. massive wave of layoffsSharma himself admitted internally that the gaming division had simply overextended itself. The overall budget remains flat – the money earmarked for Fallout and Elder Scrolls will therefore be drastically cut elsewhere.

Is it possible to make games faster?

The plan sounds logical on paper, but it carries enormous risks. More money doesn't guarantee better gameplay. If studios grow without a plan, total chaos threatens. Nevertheless, this focus on core franchises is the first sign of life from Xbox in months that has real relevance for us gamers. We don't want concept teasers for the next decade. We want to play games.

Will this heavy-handed approach finally bring success? What good is a bigger budget for Bethesda if half the Xbox team is laid off at the same time? Let's discuss it in the comments!
