Even though 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' is no longer the newest title in Konami's portfolio, it seems more relevant than ever and will be equipped with a PS4 Pro patch later today.
The publisher surprisingly announced this today via Twitter, while also pointing out that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is still free. in the PlayStation Plus line-up from October is represented – and will be until next week.

Konami hasn't yet revealed the exact optimizations for the PS4 Pro version, so we'll have to wait for further analysis, which will surely follow soon. However, at least dynamic resolution is likely, since 60fps is already a given. PS4 Pro titles often also benefit from improved lighting, better shadows, or HDR support. We'll just have to wait and see.

The PS4 Pro patch is now available, and the changelog only mentions improved performance. Initial analysis also shows that the game now runs at 1440p, but no checkerboard rendering or improved textures are used. So, it's still a long way from 4K resolution. More details in the following video:
