Konami has announced a companion app for 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' at short notice, which will be released in time for the game's release next week.

As the publisher explains, the app functions as a second screen for Snake's iDroid device and can be used as an in-game map on which you are currently playing, as a second-screen map in your hand, giving the player an even greater overview than in the game itself, and also allows you to listen to all recordings and music tracks that you unlock during the course of the game.

The app works with PlayStation 4, PS3 and Xbox One, but PC and Xbox360 are not supported.
