In the context of Konami's E3 Pre-Show New information about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was also revealed, including the new voice actor for Snake.

According to reports, Kiefer Sutherland, best known for the TV series '24', was cast as Snake. Kojima chose Sutherland because they wanted a voice that sounded a bit older than in previous installments. Since Snake is older in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, a more mature-sounding voice was needed for the character.

The release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is currently unclear.
