Mirror's Edge Catalyst – EA's expectations were met

By

The reboot of Mirror's Edge has fully met the expectations of publisher Electronic Arts, even though the international reviews were quite mixed.

Ultimately, the Meta Score is slightly below the initial euphoria surrounding the game, likely because the franchise remains quite niche. However, it's been received quite positively by players themselves, garnering a slightly better average rating than the gaming press.

EA commented Here's what I'm talking about now: "The [game] has definitely met our expectations... we are very happy to have brought this character and world to market."

EA's Global Publishing boss, Laura Miele, emphasized that the game has undergone a huge evolution compared to the original. Key to this evolution were creative content, a first-person action title, the heroine Faith and her story, and the character's unique character within the industry. For EA, it was naturally another creative risk, given the mixed reviews the original received, but the entire franchise has endured to this day, and they are justifiably proud of that.
