Following Resident Evil 7, Capcom today unveiled another VR experience based on one of its popular brands: 'Monster Hunter X Circle of Saviors'.
The project was created in collaboration with the Japanese developer Fivefor, who specialize in VR development, among other things. The new VR experience is designed for two players, with the second player acting as support and able to assist the first with a bow. The game also features the original Monster Hunter enemies and weapons, and fallen enemies can be used to craft new items – just like in the original.
Monster Hunter X: Circle of Saviors is currently being showcased at Capcom's GameLand in Japan on HTC Vive, but it's unclear whether a wider commercial release is planned or if other VR headsets will be supported. However, a similar process occurred with the Kitchen Demo of Resident Evil, which ultimately evolved into a full-fledged game.
