The developer nDreams (Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost) nDreams was acquired by Aonic, with whom they have exciting VR projects in the pipeline for 2024. For the sum of 110 million US dollars, nDreams would also have been a perfect candidate for Sony.
nDreams once worked with Sony as the main developer for PlayStation Home and, after its demise, focused on the VR market. For PS VR2, they have since developed Synapse (our review) and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Published. With the acquisition by Aonic, the company aims to further expand its strengths in the VR and MR market.
“We founded nDreams in 2006 and focused exclusively on VR games in 2013. We are proud of everything we have achieved as an independent company,” said Patrick O’Luanaigh, CEO of nDreams. “After 18 months of working together, we are confident that we have found the right partner in Aonic. This is the perfect time to welcome their support to further strengthen our position and capitalize on this pivotal moment for VR and MR.”

Aonic recognizes the unparalleled work on some of the biggest VR titles on the market, so acquiring nDreams and providing the best teams in the field was a natural step for them. They are already looking forward to realizing more exciting projects.
"Having spent more than a decade at the forefront of virtual reality gaming, nDreams possesses unparalleled expertise in extended reality technologies and markets that can be tapped by other Aonic studios."
Further announcements are already in the pipeline for next year, which will be released then and beyond.
