Visceral Games (Dead Space) has also been working on a Star Wars game for EA for some time now, and new information and images were presented at the Star Wars Celebration in London.

Former Uncharted writer Amy Hennig is involved in the development and emphasized in London that they are creating an original Star Wars story with new characters, creatures, locations, and more. It's a completely standalone game set in the Star Wars universe, for which they are working closely with Lucasfilm, although this isn't always easy.

The game's development process is very similar to that of Uncharted back then, where the films are completely deconstructed and rebuilt as an interactive experience. Ultimately, the player should feel as if they've just played a Star Wars film, including its defining structure, the pauses between acts, the set pieces, and everything else that makes Star Wars what it is.

The characters are also important, as there isn't just one main character, but rather all the co-protagonists. Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and the others all have the same significance or weight in the films, and this tradition is something the developers want to continue in the game.

Besides the story, gameplay also plays a crucial role, where you don't follow a lone hero's tale. Rather, it's a coordinated ensemble where everything works together. The heroes in Star Wars always have to cooperate to succeed, which is quite a challenge during development, and conveying that feeling in the end is a real challenge.

The as-yet-unnamed Star Wars title is expected to be released in 2018.
