The upcoming issue of PSM Magazine will feature a preview with new details about Resident Evil 6, including information on the campaign, co-op mode, and more. However, this also contains some spoilers.
Among other things, it is mentioned again that there will be three separate campaigns that can be played in any order. One follows Leon S. Kennedy in the USA, the second Chris Redfield in China, and the third with Jake Muller (Albert Wesker Jr.) in Europe.
Muller's blood is the key to curing yourself of the C-Virus, the game's ultimate bio-weapon. You yourself are immune to the virus. Your co-op partner here is Sherry Berkin, and the combat system is more focused on close-quarters combat. A presentation of this campaign is expected at E3 in June. Chris Redfield's campaign takes place in Lanshiang and is more action-oriented. You'll experience a dramatic event that will change your personality, partly due to Ada Wong. Here, you'll fight alongside Peirs Nivens. Leon's campaign is about assassinating the president on the Tall Oaks University campus, which is being transformed into a ground-zero bio-terror attack zone. Your co-op partner here is Special Agent Helena Harper.
Classic zombies will return as enemies, along with newer ones from Resident Evil 4 & 5. These newer zombies can use weapons and their severed body parts will regenerate. Zombies can now jump and climb. Players can move, shoot, and take cover simultaneously. The Mercenaries Mode will also be available from the start.
Resident Evil 6 will be released on October 02nd, 2012.
