Perfect World Europe and Cryptic Studios today announced the new expansion 'Ravenloft' for their MMORPG 'Neverwinter', which will initially be released for PC, and later for consoles.

Adventurers are transported to the gothic horror world of Ravenloft and embark on a completely new path in the epic campaign. This campaign is further enhanced with unique gameplay features that bridge the gap to the dark world of Ravenloft, plus the Barovia Adventure Zone, a new monster hunting system where Tarokka maps provide clues to monsters' locations, heroic encounters, a new endgame dungeon (Ravenloft Castle), a gameplay-relevant day-night cycle, and much more.

In addition, one writes:

"When uninvited guests appear in the Forgotten Realms, adventurers will seek out the seer Madame Eva to have her read the Tarokka cards. But the mists of Barovia intervene, drawing adventurers to the Plains of Terror and into the land of the powerful vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich. In the darkest corners of this new land, adventurers will become the heroes of a new story told through quests and instances. They will complete new, replayable adventures, undertake new Heroic Encounters, hunt the creatures of the mists in a revamped monster-hunting system, and embark on a new endgame campaign. This will lead them to Castle Raven's Nest, a new epic dungeon. Only by uniting the heroes of Neverwinter will they be able to free the cursed land of Barovia from the rule of the dark Count Strahd von Zarovich."

An exact release date for 'Ravenloft' will be announced in the coming weeks.
