Perfect World Entertainment has just released 'Neverwinter: Storm Kings Thunder – Sea of Moving Ice', which adds numerous new features to the MMO, including the game's largest adventure zone to date, sailing in your own boat, a brand new fishing mini-game, new artifact weapons, treasure hunts and an epic assault on Svardborg, the fortress of the frost giants.
This new update picks up seamlessly from the story of Storm King's Thunder, in which the frost giant Jarl Storvald threatened to destroy Neverwinter and all of Faerûn with the help of the Ring of Winter. To thwart the Jarl's plans, adventurers must secure the support of various factions as they navigate the treacherous waters near his fortress of Svardborg aboard their new Khyek boat. Along the way, they can also try their luck with the new fishing system, search for bottles containing treasure maps, and discover lost relics that can be transformed into powerful artifact weapons.
- Assault on Svardborg – In this new epic level 70 trial, adventurers face off directly against the mighty Jarl Storvald in his fortress of Svardborg. The trial can be undertaken on normal and master difficulty.
- New Adventure Zone – The heroes of Neverwinter will embark on adventures in a field of drifting ice consisting of half a dozen giant icebergs and numerous smaller ice floes, seeking support in the fight against Jarl Storvald.
- New travel method – adventurers will be able to travel around the sea of drifting ice on small boats called khyeks.
- Fishing minigame – Players can sail their Khyeks out to sea and cast their lines to catch over one hundred different types of fish. This will earn them reputation with new factions, granting them access to powerful new weapons and methods to upgrade them.
- Treasure Hunts – Adventurers can catch bottles on their hooks while fishing, containing maps that lead to treasures scattered throughout the sea of drifting ice.
- Artifact Weapons – By acquiring long-lost giant relics through new activities, adventurers can secure weapons more powerful than any previous ones.
Neverwinter is currently playable as free-to-play on the PS4.
