Today, Sunday, industry analyst Michael Pachter weighs in again, speculating about the future of the two PS4 titles, 'The Last Guardian' and 'Shenmue III'. Even though there seems to be a lot of interest in these two games, he doesn't believe they will sell very well.
In an interview on this topic, Pachter said: "Well, they [Sony] don't have that many big franchises, but they are releasing their big brands now. The ones whose release is delayed tend to be the lame ones. I think The Last Guardian is entertaining, but it's hardly an Uncharted or The Last of Us. It's kind of a niche title. It's the same with Shenmue III. The game is OK, but outside of Japan, how many millions of units do you think it will sell? Not very many."
We will likely find out to what extent Pachter's prediction proves correct later this year with The Last Guardian, while the release of Shenmue III is not expected until the end of 2017.
