Palworld will leave Early Access on July 10, 2026, with the biggest content update in the game's history. At the same time, developer Pocketpair has definitively ruled out the community's most requested feature: Pokémon-style evolutions will never be implemented.
No evolutions – intention from the beginning
The studio quickly put an end to fans' hopes. Community manager John "Bucky" Buckley clarified on Discord that permanent developments for Pals were neither planned nor will ever be implemented. The feature isn't shelved; it simply doesn't exist.
The system was never intended to improve the gameplay structure and balance. Anyone hoping to transform their monsters into more powerful versions will unfortunately be disappointed. That's a tough pill to swallow, but it brings clarity.
Pocketpair pumps the energy into pure mass instead. version 1.0 It's supposed to surpass everything the game has seen so far in terms of scope. More new Pals More than in any previous update, a completely new region and a deeper story are planned. Deleting old save files is not mandatory, but the developers recommend restarting for the full experience.
This thing is going to be gigantic. While the lack of evolutions might disappoint collectors, it secures Palworld its own unique identity, separate from its Nintendo competitors. If the game's scope at launch is impressive, nobody will miss the evolutions in the end.
Do you believe that the sheer number of completely new Pals can compensate for the missing evolution stages on July 10th?
