A few days ago, the first information about the new FOX Engine, which will be used in PES 2014, leaked. Konami has now confirmed further official details.
"In the short term, the team is using the Fox Engine to adapt Pro Evolution Soccer for the current generation of consoles. However, it will be much more than just a graphical update. The team's goal is to create a competition between players of different skill levels by overhauling the game mechanics. In the new version of Pro Evolution Soccer, the physics and controls have been modified to realistically highlight the difference between slower, but strong players and smaller, more agile ones. Players on the pitch can also be controlled completely independently of the ball. For example, you can extend your shoulder and unbalance your opponent before the ball even arrives."
"The goal is to revive classic football culture and focus particularly on 'David versus Goliath' events. Currently, many players play PES 2013 online with teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Paris Saint-Germain if they want to win. In the future, fans will have a decisive influence on the game and give their team a 'push' by, for example, nutmegging an opposing player."
But that's not all. The changes also affect how fans and even the stadium influence a game, and how certain players lead and motivate the team.
So it remains exciting until Konami officially reveals the game for the first time.
