Planet Zoo 2 showcases new graphics features of the Cobra engine, aquariums and birds for PC, PS5 and Xbox in a 35-minute gameplay video ahead of its October release.

Frontier Developments delivers a comprehensive 35-minute gameplay deep dive into "Planet Zoo 2" for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The simulation is based on the new version of their in-house Cobra engine.

This technological foundation enables global illumination for drastically improved lighting and extreme visual detail in enclosures and terrain. The video demonstrates the construction of a tropical zoo, including complex tiger behavior and optimized tools for both beginners and experienced users.

For the first time, birds like toco toucans and secretary birds fly through enclosures, while blacktip reef sharks and loggerhead sea turtles fill the new aquariums. The feature also includes global wildlife sanctuaries for long-term species conservation projects.

“Planet Zoo 2” will be released on October 13, 2026.
