The online retail giant Amazon.de is now accepting pre-orders for the PlayStation 4, which, like the Xbox One, is initially listed at a price of 599 EUR.

Since Sony hasn't yet released any information on the price or whether there will be different bundles at launch, pre-orders are currently only provisional. However, one thing is certain: the PS4 will likely cost no more than €599. The price for all pre-orders will then be adjusted downwards.

Anyone who still wants to play right at launch should at least secure a console, as it is not yet clear whether the initial delivery will be sufficient.

(Update)

Sony confirmed the price of €399 at E3. The PS4 can now be pre-ordered at this price; see the advertisement below.
