Sony has repeatedly mentioned that a PlayStation Move controller is quite convenient for playing PlayStation VR, leading to a renewed surge in demand for the former PS3 accessory. This is especially true since PlayStation Move controllers are currently very affordable.

However, concerns have arisen that the lithium-ion batteries in PlayStation Move controllers may no longer be able to deliver their full performance due to prolonged storage. This phenomenon has already been documented, especially if the batteries haven't been used or recharged. According to Sony, the PlayStation Move controller originally had a maximum battery life of 10 hours, which could now be significantly reduced. This should be verified on a case-by-case basis.

Sony is planning new bundles

Sony has generally stated that existing accessories will be fully compatible with PlayStation VR, aside from potential battery issues. However, Sony will also release a new PlayStation Move bundle at launch in the US, which includes the PlayStation Camera and a game. Such a bundle has not yet been announced for Europe, but new PlayStation Move controllers are expected to arrive in stores soon. Furthermore, it is still speculated that the newer PlayStation Move controllers will use the same USB connector as the current DualShock 4 controller, which connects via Micro-USB.
