Sony is going all in on co-op action for PlayStation Plus in June, delivering “Grounded”, “Warhammer 40,000: Darktide” and “Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2” to all PS Plus members from June 2nd.
The June lineup focuses entirely on multiplayer experiences. Those who prefer to play through epic stories alone are out of luck this month. That's the reality. After the rather niche May lineup, Sony is radically changing direction and catering to squads who want to hunt together.
Three completely different co-op worlds
"Grounded"Shrinks you to the size of an ant and throws you into a dangerously overgrown backyard. The Fully Yoked Edition brings the complete survival package directly to PS4 and PS5. Gather resources, build bases, and survive hordes of spiders. The concept works extremely well in co-op. Playing alone, however, quickly loses its charm."
Things get even more brutal in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The creators of Vermintide bring their familiar co-op carnage to a sci-fi universe. Chain poker meets laser rifles. The hit feedback is seriously satisfying. The PS5 performance remains to be seen.
The laughing third party in this group is "Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2." A classic platform brawler with SpongeBob, Squidward, and the Turtles. Sounds like a licensed exploitation, but thanks to new super moves and a roguelike campaign, it's surprisingly solid gameplay-wise.
Extra time on the pitch
EA Sports FC 26 will remain available for a while longer. You can still grab the game until June 16th. On June 4th, EA will also release the "World's Game" update, which introduces a new international tournament mode with 48 national teams. It's a nice football package for fans to grab.
Don't forget to claim Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Nine Sols before June 2nd. After that, the May games will be gone.
June delivers a strong package for groups of friends. "Warhammer 40,000: Darktide" and "Grounded" are absolute time sinks in co-op. However, those primarily looking for single-player experiences will find little to enjoy here. A solid, extremely focused lineup.
