Rumors about a revamp of PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now are gaining momentum and are fueled weekly with new hints. Apparently, something is happening behind the scenes, which could point to an imminent launch.

US users on the NeoGAF forum are reporting that their PlayStation Now subscription is now showing up as PlayStation Plus during automatic renewal. Others, however, are reporting that their PlayStation Plus subscription is showing up as PlayStation Now. Both of these reports suggest that the two services are already being migrated in the background, although a technical error in this regard can never be completely ruled out.

However, if you consider the reports of the last few weeks, which predict an imminent launch of the new PlayStation Plus, which is likely to be among the Codename: Project Spartacus It's happening, talking, the whole thing probably isn't entirely by chance.

The service should comprise three levels.

If Sony does indeed have such plans, the new service will comprise three tiers. This has been mentioned from the beginning, each offering different content. The service will likely start at the [number] tier. Essential at $10, in that level Extra at $13 and in the study Premium at $16 per month.

The different tiers would then include the current PlayStation Plus offer, plus optional demos, early access, classics, or the PlayStation Now streaming service, which is expected to play a crucial role in the new service.

The only thing that hasn't been met so far is the speculated launch date, which insiders said was set for the end of February. However, they had also mentioned an internal launch, which was the initial goal.

Either way, it remains to be seen whether a major overhaul of PlayStation Plus will actually take place soon. So far, Sony is proceeding as usual and recently announced... new line-up for PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now published.

UpdateOther users are reporting that their PlayStation Plus subscriptions are being extended by the same period they attempt to purchase a PS Now subscription for. This further suggests that the two services are being merged behind the scenes.
