With 'Farpoint', the first game to support the newly developed Aim Controller for PlayStation VR will be released soon, which is intended to further enhance the feeling of immersion while playing.

Since just one game would be a pretty big waste for the Aim Controller, Sony and other developers have now announced a whole series of VR games that will benefit from it. As mentioned, the first of these is 'Farpoint' next week, a sci-fi shooter that puts you on a dangerous journey to a hostile alien world to search for a crashed space station – the Pilgrim – and its survivors, as well as a way back home.

Rome: Extraction

This will soon be followed by 'Rome: Extraction' from First Contact Entertainment, which puts you in the role of an extractor who must defend himself against numerous extraterrestrial bots. The game sees itself as an homage to classic arcade shooters, plus new game modes and new maps.

"With the PlayStation VR Aim Controller, we can achieve a much stronger sense of physicality than with the standard motion controllers," the developer explains. "The controls themselves are pleasant and intuitive. Regarding the extensions to ROM, the PS VR Aim Controller offers us a variety of functions that fit perfectly with the various mechanics we have planned."

The Brookhaven Experiment

An update for the already released 'The Brookhaven Experiment', another arcade shooter where something has gone terribly wrong and a hole has been torn through reality, will be released on June 06th. Time is running out, or you might not survive long enough to take down the monsters that are overrunning you.

"In arcades, the fun of playing was linked to the experience of holding something real in your hands. So it was a stroke of luck for us when Sony announced the PS VR Aim Controller. The feeling of holding the weapon in your hands also changed the mental impact of the game on us."

Dick Wilde

Also coming soon is 'Dick Wilde' from developer PlayStack, who commented on the Aim Controller as follows.

“All weapons in Dick Wilde were designed with the PS VR Aim Controller in mind. It’s important that players can fully immerse themselves in the world of Dick Wilde, and to make this possible, we tailored the size and shape of the weapons in the game precisely to the Aim Controller. This makes shooting extremely satisfying, as players can aim relatively easily and rack up critical hits consistently.”

Arizona Sunshine

Starting in June, players can also go zombie hunting with the release of 'Arizona Sunshine', a game designed from the ground up for VR and immersing them directly in a zombie apocalypse – as if they were right in the middle of it. In the post-apocalyptic Southwest of America, players search for human survivors. They can tackle the campaign mode, team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer, or join up to three other players in the endless multiplayer horde mode.

"Although you can only use one weapon at a time with the Aim Controller, this is compensated for by the increased accuracy and control, which increases your chances of landing critical, shattering hits – you heard right!"Trevor Blom adds, Technical Director, Vertigo Games.

Sony already released a special report on the development of the Aim Controller yesterday, Thursday, which you can read again here. here you will findThe new controller will initially only be offered as part of a bundle with Farpoint and can be pre-ordered below.
