To fully experience PlayStation VR, you also need a bit of space in front of your home TV, ideally 6,84 square meters, as Sony has now revealed.
While the height depends on the PlayStation Camera's positioning, a depth of approximately 3 meters and a width of 1,9 meters are required, with the player seated in the rear third of this rectangle. An additional 0,6 meters is allocated for the PlayStation Camera's field of view. This should easily meet the requirements of most German living rooms.
Sony also recommends clearing the area around the actual playing field of obstacles to avoid accidentally falling over them. With PlayStation VR, it's important to be aware that the entire outside world is blocked out by the headset. Therefore, games should preferably be played while seated. Specific instructions for playing while standing can be found in the individual game descriptions.
PlayStation VR will be released in October 2016.
