With the upcoming launch of PlayStation VR, work on a successor has apparently already begun, as can be seen from a statement by Sony.
So sprach SIE Worldwide Studios CEO, Shawn Layden, recently spoke about PlayStation VR, stating that they are aware that when they ship such hardware, a successor is already in the design phase. They look at it and recognize the immense potential it still holds. At the same time, they also know that this might require technologies that don't yet exist. For now, all the basics have been incorporated into PlayStation VR, but they are constantly on the lookout for innovative technologies.
“PlayStation VR is the first step of a very long journey,” so Layden. "We're all in. We're putting everything on the table and I like our chances."
Although we are only at the beginning of the new VR era, things are already becoming apparent. the first testers I am extremely impressed by PlayStation VR, which not only impresses in terms of hardware, but also in terms of the range of games and their quality.
