It was recently revealed that PlayStation VR will also benefit from the new PS4 Pro, and Sony's Marc Cerny has now provided a little more detail. explained hat.

Second-generation games, expected to be available from early 2017, will be able to utilize a custom multi-resolution technology. This allows the game's resolution to be reduced at the edges of the screen, resulting in a significant performance boost without noticeably impacting overall image quality. The following image, using Battlezone as an example, demonstrates how this works in practice.

Developers would then be free to use the additional performance, which already receives a significant boost from the PS4 Pro, as they see fit. However, some titles in the launch lineup already demonstrate that there is still room for improvement; while they are only partially convincing, they also leave much to be desired.
