Capcom director Yonghee Cho wants a sequel to the sci-fi action-adventure game "Pragmata," but internally he doesn't have sole decision-making power. As things stand, the franchise's future is uncertain.
Following the launch in April 2026, Cho clearly stated his support for a sequel to the new franchise in an interview. The publisher's Japanese PR department immediately intervened, declaring the statement a purely personal opinion.
The sudden intervention of the PR team is not without a certain irony. Cho responded to a hypothetical question about "Pragmata 2" with a clear "yes." Producer Naoto Oyama attempted to calm the waters and asked that the statement not be taken out of context. Officially, a sequel is therefore off the table. The management's defensive stance demonstrates how nervous publishers are when faced with uncontrolled announcements.
The numbers trump the PR hesitation.
The reticence of the management, however, contradicts the game's commercial success. "Pragmata" sold worldwide within just 16 days of its release on April 17, 2026. Sold over two million timesFor a completely new IP without an established fanbase, this is an excellent result. For comparison, the game had already sold one million units after just two days. The investment of six years in development is thus paying off, albeit belatedly, but measurably.
Capcom is operating from a position of extreme luxury here. The publisher generates gigantic revenue streams with its main franchises, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. The fact that a linear, mechanically focused single-player project with hacking and puzzle elements is such a hit proves the market potential beyond service games. Games like Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess already demonstrated Capcom's penchant for creative risks. Pragmata now confirms this approach with strong sales figures.
A sequel to "PRAGMATA“It will come, presumably, even if Capcom’s PR department is currently engaged in damage control. Two million units sold in just over two weeks is the only relevant argument for a new IP in the current market environment. The brand has a future, and the foundation is there. Now, the management in Osaka just needs to give the go-ahead. Not immediately, but in the foreseeable future.”

Sandro Duryn's book was sold out everywhere until yesterday, and it's still like that on Amazon.
Sandro Duryn, and if you look closely, the first version is still sold out.
I have it installed, but haven't played it yet🙆.
It will be difficult for part 2 lore technically.
Pragmata is also really awesome and it's currently sold out everywhere.
Sandro Duryn's product was initially available in retail stores, but it's available again now.
